What is a finned tube?

A finned tube is an exchanger tube whose outer surface carries added or formed fins, to increase the exchange surface on the less conductive fluid side — typically air. Used in air-cooled exchangers, less common than plain tube in liquid/liquid circuits.

How to choose it?

This product is warranted when heat exchange happens with a poorly conductive gas on the finned side — an air-cooled condenser, an air/water exchanger. For a classic liquid/liquid exchanger, plain tube from the stainless tube cluster or the cupronickel page is usually enough.
