TECHNICAL TOOL

Identify a grade from its composition

You have a material certificate and a doubt: does this heat really match the grade it claims? Enter or paste the analysis, and the tool compares it against the normative ranges of each applicable standard — a figured verdict, never a similarity percentage.

English preview

The interactive tool is built and live — in French only, for now. Standard names, grade designations and composition ranges read the same regardless of language; only the tool's own wording (labels, verdicts) is French.

What it does

Enter a partial or complete heat analysis — as few as two elements already rule out most grades — or paste a certificate's chemistry block directly, and the tool proposes the extracted values as editable pre-filled fields, never applying them without review. The verdict is given per normative reference (EN, ASTM…): a heat can match one standard's range and fall outside another's for what is nominally "the same" grade, and that divergence is shown explicitly rather than flattened into a single range.

Frequently asked questions

Why is this tool only in French?
It was built for the French site first. The English translation of its verdict wording is scheduled as its own piece of work, not yet done. Grade names, standards and composition ranges are identical in both languages — only the tool's own text is French.
